Absolutely an amazing builder. The craftsmanship and attention to detail is the best I've seen. I have been in the business for 30 years and have never had the actual owner walk you through every aspect of the build. Very straightforward about pricing with both additions and removal of items...100% opposite of national builders. We loved everything about the builder and design person. We were so excited to work with them and gave our deposit. Unfortunately on the way home my accountant informed us the purchase did not qualify for the 1031 transfer we planned. This guy was so honest I didn't even put a stop order on my $52K check. The next day he sent a picture of the voided check. I 100% recommend this company and will definitely use him if I have another chance.
We just built a home with Mike Smith, Southwind Builders in 2020.. Prior to this we built 5 new homes and did one total remodel; working with Mike and his crew was the best experience ever! Mike is ethical, knowledgeable, fair, detailed, fun to work with, positive “can do” attitude, up front with costs, no surprises, high quality and great value! He provides an online tool that has the schedule day-to-day, shows all selections, details all products and construction process, facilitates communication, and more! I would highly recommend Southwind Builders townhomes. We walked into their Townhouse model in Lake Elmo and immediately feel in love. The layout, quality and service they provided we top notch. We knew from the moment we walked in that this was the townhouse for us. We looked at over 50 other townhomes and nothing compared to the one we bought. They were very easy to work with and very patient. Always willing to do whatever to make my wife and I happy.
I have not personally used their services but I called to complain about one of their driver being erradict on the road. The guy that answered was so professional and nice. He addressed the issue immediately. I would highly trust this company.
